Experience
Kimberly Public
Affairs designs programs to achieve goals. Here are some of the successful
programs designed by KPA staff.
- Media campaigns
resulting in positive stories in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal,
Houston Chronicle, USA Today, Forbes and Fortune magazines and a wide
variety of trade press. Tactics have included news releases followed
by interviews, pitches of story ideas to the media, taking a media
outlet's request to the client and recommending action, a virtual
news conference in New York with a satellite uplink and holding events
featuring VIPs, which the media are invited to attend.
- Event planning,
with events ranging from a groundbreaking ceremony in Asia featuring
the country's prime minister, to a social celebration in Houston for
300 international guests featuring Cirque du Soleil. KPA staff has
also planned numerous business functions for industry analysts and
other key audiences.
- Community relations
activities designed to gain respect for companies with key constituents.
Activities have included stakeholder mapping to build consensus, human
rights and environmental campaigns, and support of community funds
and infrastructure.
- Crisis planning
and preparedness for Fortune 500 companies. International crisis plans
prepared by KPA staff were utilized for environmental and human rights
crises in South America and Asia. KPA also has facilitated crisis
exercises related to asset loss, environmental issues, employee injuries
and fatalities and country evacuations of expatriate personnel.
- Issues campaigns
to advocate our client's side of an issue, recruiting third party
support for their position. Goals have ranged from facility sitings
to ballot issues to winning public funds for a project.
